Jersey firm Bedell Cristin will launch its fifth office when its opens in Guernsey in April.
The new operation will be headed by corporate specialist Mark Helyar, who joins from local firm Babbe Le Pelley Tostevin. It will focus on financial services including banking, corporate finance, securities and investment funds.
Richard Gerwat, managing partner of the Bedell Group said the plan to extend the brand into Guernsey gave the firm's existing and prospective clients access to the same partner-led and commercially orientated legal and fiduciary services it provided from its four other offices. "Establishing a truly Channel Islands presence reflects the increasing demands of our clients for legal and fiduciary capabilities in more than one key offshore jurisdiction,” he added.
Bedell has significantly expanded its international presence over the last few years. It launched in London at the end of 2005 while it gained a Geneva operation in 2004. It also has an office in Dublin.
