Scott, who will take up the post in January, will be responsible for managing the firm’s 300 support staff.
Beachcroft managing partner Paul Murray told The Lawyer: “We need to address how we deliver our support services to lawyers and make that tighter to deliver more efficiencies and a better service.”
Scott will be responsible for adding a corporate dimension to the support structure, allowing lawyers to relinquish admin tasks and focus on their legal business.
“We have to be more corporate in our approach,” Murray said. The aim, he added, is for Scott to commoditise the firm’s support service structure.
He added: “Having come from Capita, Janet has learnt to have a strong appreciation of the bottom line and knows how to commoditise services in a professional manner.”
