Beachcroft is to phase out its ringfenced ’B2 from Beachcroft’ brand and roll out the volume business across its real estate and employment practices.
Limited company B2 from Beachcroft was launched in May last year after the firm acquired the volume insurance business of Welsh firm Kingslegal. Now the firm plans to integrate it with its core business and use the volume systems it acquired to help streamline working practices in its contentious groups.
“We’re changing the way we do things,” Beachcroft senior partner Simon Hodson said, adding that the firm would look to move partners away from non-legal work and bring in non-lawyers to focus on more commoditised functions such as case management.
“The role of partner will change – they’ll become much more supervisory and move towards managing the process to get the right outcome,” Hodson added.
The firm’s Newport office will be rebranded as Beachcroft so the firm operates under a single brand.
The move comes just weeks after Eversheds revealed plans to scrap its volume LSG brand (The Lawyer, 11 October). Like Beachcroft, Eversheds will continue to offer volume work, but LSG and its partners and fee-earners will be absorbed into the litigation and real estate practices.
