Australian firm Blake Dawson Waldron (BDW) has poached a team of five property partners from rival firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
The team is being led by partner Chris Mitchell, who is taking with him three senior associates and an assistant.
Mitchell focuses largely on government work, advising on the Sydney Light Rail and the new Southern Railway to Sydney Airport projects. He has also advised on the disposal of a number of government heritage assets such as the Sydney and Melbourne General Post Offices.
BDW property head John Odbert said the team's client base was well aligned with that of the firm. "Property is a key area, and by appointing Chris and his team we're increasing our investment in this area of law."
Four of the five-member team will be based in Sydney, with the fifth member based in Canberra.
