Michel Jaccard left BCCC in April to establish Id Est Avocats in Lausanne, taking with him one associate. He has since recruited two other junior associates to join the firm, one from another Swiss firm and one who was most recently studying at the University of Berkeley in California.
Jaccard said he felt that clients were seeking an increased specialism from their lawyers and this was better provided for in a boutique firm.
He added that clients had responded well to the move and Id Est had been busy in its first month of operation.
