Barlow Lyde & Gilbert is expanding its Oxford office as it takes on a second partner and a senior associate to boost its corporate and commercial practice
Brent Armstrong joins as a corporate partner from New Zealand firm Bell Gully, where he has been a partner for over 10 years.
He has a general practice and works in a number of areas, including privitisations, M&A, acquisition finance and corporate finance.
Emma Bissett is joining as an IT, intellectual property and general commercial law senior associate from the London office of SJ Berwin.
Both will join Oxford-based corporate partner Janita Good but will also work closely with London.
Head of corporate John Longdon said that the Oxford office is an exciting challenge. "There's the chance to build up an office and it's an attractive option. It also gives us the opportunity to capture good lawyers who don't want to be in London," he said.
The Oxford office services existing London clients as well as targeting new clients in the Thames Valley.
