Barclays' head of legal for larger business Alex Cam-eron has quit the FTSE100 bank after nine years.
During his time at Barclays, Cameron has held several different positions in the bank's in-house legal function. Prior to moving into his current role, he was general counsel for Barclays' business banking division. He also spent some time as legal director at Barclays Capital, but moved into a different division following the appointment of Jonathan Hughes as BarCap's UK head of legal.
Larger business is a group within Barclays' business banking division. The business banking's legal department is headed by Jeremy Ogden.
It is understood that Cameron has not secured a position elsewhere.
A Barclays spokesperson confirmed Cameron's departure and added: "Alex has spent nine years here and felt that he wanted a different challenge. We wish him all the best for the future."
Barclays' legal function comprises 250 lawyers and is headed by former Clifford Chance partner Mark Harding, who joined the bank in June 2003.
