Barclays has replaced its head of legal for Barclaycard with the general counsel of its Africa group.
Mark Edwards will take on the role as general counsel for Barclaycard from 4 October this year, replacing Rachel Harris who was sent on secondment to Northamptonshire County Council in May this year.
During his time at the bank, Edwards has worked in a number of divisions in a legal capacity including Barclays’ head office and its private clients group.
Harris is expected to remain on secondment for 12 months, which began in May. According to a spokesperson at Barclaycard, Harris’ role on her return to Barclays has not been determined yet, but will be decided nearer the time.
