Barclays Capital (BarCap) UK and Europe legal head Jake Scrivens has stepped down for a non-legal role within the company.
From the beginning of September Scrivens will take up the position of head of structured credit portfolio, with BarCap Asia-Pacific regional general counsel Magnus Spencer taking over the UK and Europe role.
A spokesman for the company said: “Jake will form a trading team to focus on the complex products in our non-continuing credit business lines. He’ll partner with the existing product groups ;and ;control functions to enhance risk-management processes and reporting on these highly structured transactions.”
Scrivens has spent 10 years in BarCap’s legal team – five as UK and Europe legal chief. Spencer, who will be succeeded in the Asia role by his deputy Chris Flosi, will report to New York-based global general counsel Jonathan Hughes.
