The Bar Council has elected One Crown Office Row silk Guy Mansfield as its new chairman. Mansfield is joined by 6 Pump Court’s Stephen Hockman QC as vice-chair and David Southern of 3 Temple Gardens Tax Chambers as treasurer. The three take up the roles on 1 January 2005. Mansfield replaces Stephen Irwin QC as chair. His role will include leading the bar through the regulatory changes which Sir David Clementi is expected to recommend in his review of the legal profession.
