Investment banking boutique Exotix has hired Jide Bada as its new general counsel.
Bada joins from consulting firm Petra Associates, where he listed Exotix as one of his clients, advising it on several projects over the past six years. In his new role he will manage the company’s global legal function.
Chief executive Vikas Nath said: “Jide’s experience and expertise will prove invaluable to Exotix given our focus on frontier markets where there are a diverse and complex set of regulations to navigate.
“Since 2004 we’ve had the pleasure of working with Jide on various projects and we look forward to having him join Exotix on a permanent basis.”
Exotix specialises in esoteric financial products and investments in frontier markets including sub-Saharan Africa, Argentina, Cuba and North Korea.
Before joining Petra, Bada was assistant general counsel and head of compliance for ICAP. Before moving in house, he worked at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and Allen & Overy.
