A Baker & McKenzie banking and finance partner is joining Goldman Sachs International as senior derivatives counsel. David Green, who joins the investment bank in January, is the second partner Baker & McKenzie has lost to a client this year . The firm's London office lost partner Graham Allan to client Cisco earlier this year.
Green, who has been at Baker & McKenzie for 12 years, says it will be a “huge wrench” to leave but adds: “Goldman Sachs International have offered me an opportunity which was simply too good to turn down.”
Baker & McKenzie London managing partner, says: “The occasional loss of people one would prefer to keep seems a corollary of the present fluidity in the legal recruitment market, albeit that such fluidity also brings along business opportunities as we have ourselves seen this year.”
