Baker & McKenzie’s London office saw revenue leap from £99.6m in 2006 to £112m for the 2007 financial year – a 12 per cent increase. Average PEP closed in on the £500,000 mark, while , RPL broke through £300,000 after a year of significant investment the year before.
Transactional highlights for the firm include advising L’Oréal on its £652m takeover of The Body Shop and scooping Unilever’s entire global trademark portfolio, beating more than 20 firms during the course of an eight-month tender process.
The firm continued to expand its banking and finance practice, hiring Nick Tostivin and David Deck from Linklaters, as well as New York partner Laurence Pettit from White & Case.
