AWB chair joins Bar human rights group

Association of Women Barristers (AWB) chair Barbara Hewson is joining the Bar human rights committee, after four years on the sex discrimination committee.

As a member of the council of Justice and Amnesty International, she is already involved in human rights issues.

Other AWB members have also taken new positions on Bar committees this year. Laura Cox QC, of Cloisters, becomes chair of the sex discrimination committee. Susan Ward takes up the role of committee vice-chair and Linden Ife, of Enterprise Chambers, becomes the AWB representative on the Bar's conference planning committee.
