Avon, the beauty products company, has shaken up its legal function following the departure of its European legal chief.
David Lloyd, Avon regional counsel for legal and regulatory affairs for Europe, the Middle East and Africa , has retired early from the company after 15 years. He has been replaced by Avon's UK company secretary Lisa Garley-Evans, who now reports to Rick Mathews, group vice-president, legal and government affairs. Carole Stronach has taken over from Garley-Evans.
Avon's Northampton-based in-house legal function comprises three lawyers.
The changes to the legal function coincide with an announcement last week that the company is hoping to recruit 20,000 representatives in the next five years.
Avon is also considering diversifying into the financial services sector, although a spokesperson played down the company's plans to sell products such as credit cards.
