Javelin star, Fatima Whitbread has won undisclosed damages from the BBC over defamatory comments made about her on comedy show, They Think It's All Over.
Whitbread's lawyer, Graham Atkins, an associate with Campbell Hooper, secured damages and an apology from the BBC in an out of court settlement. The action arose after two of the panellists on They Think It's All Over falsely suggested that Whitbread had unnaturally high levels of testosterone in her blood during her career.
After the settlement, Whitbread said: "It is important that other celebrities and people in the public eye see this victory and decided not to put up with such insults in the future."
