US firm Rogers & Wells is to give its first year associates a special $10,000 bonus, the firm announced at its recent associates meeting. The bonus will supplement the firm's existing pay package which comprises a base salary plus a merit bonus. The firm is also increasing the base salary of first year associates at its Washington office from $75,000 to $83,000. This follows a recent increase in the base salary for its first year associates in New York from $86,000 to $91,000. The Rogers & Wells move comes at a time when several other top New York firms are giving similar "boom year" bonuses to associates.
