Asia Global Crossing lawyer goes to Latham

As first revealed on www.thelawyer.com/lawyer news (19 February), US-qualified Colin Jones joins Latham as of counsel. Jones previously worked in private practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, before joining the now bankrupt telecoms company.

Tokyo managing partner David Shapiro said: "Colin's overall experience, and depth of experience in US corporate and securities matters, will strengthen our capabilities in the corporate area."

The firm has been expanding its presence in the region, growing from two lawyers in 2000 to its current figure of 12 lawyers. This includes three Japanese-qualified lawyers through the firm's joint venture.
