Ashurst Morris Crisp is launching a specialist employment practice in Brussels with the hire of Philippe De Wulf from Altius to head up the team.
Although the firm has had some employment capability in the region, this is the first time it has had a dedicated employment lawyer in Brussels.
Ashursts Belgian head of corporate Carl Meyntjens said: “The appointment of an employment specialist marks an important point in the development of the Brussels corporate practice… Employment issues are becoming increasingly central to cross-border transactions in Europe.”
The hire is part of a big push in employment throughout Europe by the firm, and follows the appointment of Munich employment partner Claudia Heins last month.
