Ashurst votes on White & Case partner hire
Ashurst is in advanced talks with White & Case restructuring partner Dan Hamilton, with the expectation that he will join the firm’s London office.
Ashurst’s partnership spent last week voting on the hire, with the ballot closing last Friday (7 August).
At White & Case Hamilton led the team that advised on the administration of Icelandic bank Baugur. Hamilton was instructed by PricewaterhouseCoopers administrators Tony Lomas and Zelf Hussain.
White & Case has suffered a number of defections in recent months.
Last week (6 August) TheLawyer.com reported that White & Case capital markets partner Tim Jeveons had quit the firm to join Greenberg Traurig Maher’s new London office.
Jeveons’ departure came just months after White & Case finance partner Rachel Hatfield left the firm after becoming disaffected with the US firm’s global strategy (The Lawyer, 27 March).
