Jones Day has hired Ashurst partner Alice Yurke for its New York finance practice.
Yurke was one of 13 partners who joined the UK firm in New York and Washington DC in 2009 from McKee Nelson (24 February 2009).
She is joined by new hire Jonathan Ching, who transfers to the US firm as of counsel from a role as vice president and counsel at an investment company. Both he and Yurke focus on structured products.
It follows Ashurst’s hire of finance partner Damian Ridealgh from former merger suitor Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson in the summer (6 June 2011).
In a statement Mark Sisitsky, co-head of banking and finance at Jones Day, said: “Their [Yurke and Ching] substantial experience in financial products and related regulatory issues will enhance our structured finance and derivatives practice and will be of great value to our clients as they face both challenging new regulations and changing financial markets.”
