Ashurst corporate star quits M&A for MA

Ashurst corporate partner David Kershaw will leave the firm after 28 years to go back to university.

Kershaw will retire later this year before beginning an MA in Classical Civilisation at Birkbeck, the ­University of London . He had previously been the head of one of four corporate teams at the City firm, ­specialising in M&A, ­corporate finance and bank finance.

Senior partner Charlie ­Geffen said: “David’s been a partner at Ashurst for 24 years and we’d like to thank him for his outstanding ­contribution to the corporate practice.”
