Ashurst has increased its associate salaries by 16 per cent to catch up with its City rivals.
The City firm has raised its salary for newly-qualified solicitors 16 per cent from £55,000 to £64,000, a figure that is fast becoming about average at the City’s law firms.
Clifford Chance, Lovells, Norton Rose and Slaughter and May pay their new starters £63,500. Allen & Overy and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer offer newly-qualified solicitors a starting salary of £65,000.
Ashurst also announced a 13 per cent increase for solicitors with one year’s post-qualification experience rising from £60,000 to £68,000.
