Tom Beckerhoff, a former partner at Norton Rose, joins the firm's Frankfurt office as a finance partner, while María José Menéndez joins from Clifford Chance as a corporate partner in Madrid. Her hire bolsters the Madrid office, which opened in 2001, to six partners.
Ashurst has also hired energy and projects specialist Philip Thomson in London. He joins the firm’s energy, transport and infrastructure practice as a partner from Linklaters where he was a senior associate.
The hires reinforce the firm’s ambitions to grow its European practice, particularly within the corporate M&A sector.
