Ashurst has added Italian antitrust veteran Denis Fosselard as a new partner in its European competition team.
Fosselard joins Ashurst’s Rome office from Italian firm Legance, where he was head of the antitrust practice. Prior to this, he was a partner at Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners having previously been a partner in Brussels firm Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick.
He specialises in all aspects of EU and Italian anitrust law and has 20 years of practice experience of advising on behavioural and merger control cases, as well as state aid investigations.
Dual-qualified in Brussels and Italy, Fosselard represents clients before both the European Commission and the Italian Competition Authority, as well as the European and Italian courts. While based in Rome, he will spend considerable time in Brussels.
Ashurst competition head Nigel Parr said in a statement: “Denis is a highly regarded practitioner who has expertise across a broad range of competition matters advising leading European corporates. We are confident that he will make a significant contribution to our European practice.”
Ashurst’s Rome office was opened in 2011 with the hire of three partners from other firms, including Domenico Gullo who leads the firm’s competition practice in Italy (4 March 2011).
