Ashurst and Travers advise NTL on $6bn Telewest deal

Ashurst, Davis Polk & Wardwell and Travers Smith have teamed up to advise NTL on its $6bn acquisition of Telewest.

Travers Smith and Ashurst acted as UK and regulatory counsel respectively. Davis Polk & Wardwell acted as the US counsel for the communications company. Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson acted as financing counsel to NTL.

Sullivan & Cromwell acted as the US counsel to Telewest while Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer acted as UK and regulatory counsel to Telewest.

NTL acquired Telewest for about $6bn or $23.93 per share, creating the UK’s second largest communications company.
