The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
South East firm ASB Law has launched a three-year strategy aiming to crack £25m in turnover by 2010.
The strategy includes a significant recruitment drive and follows a performance review initiated last year.
Andrew Clinton, who became managing partner in May 2006, said: "We've taken a comprehensive look at where the firm is and where we're going.
"The Legal Services Bill will increase the sophistication of clients and competitors, and when I became managing partner I decided it was time to have a clearer sense of direction [for the firm]."
ASB recorded a revenue of £17.6m for the last financial year, leaving it just short of 100th place in The Lawyer's UK 100.
Clinton added that the strategy involved a push to provide selected legal services for regional corporations with £75m-plus turnovers "who will go the City for certain kinds of work".
The firm will also provide a full-service offering for smaller corporations and owner-managed businesses with £5m-75m turnovers. This will include a push on cross-selling to the private client team. Clinton confirmed that the strategy involved hiring "on a reasonably aggressive scale" in its core areas of litigation, commercial and employment, as well as in its niche practices of construction and aviation.
