Arnold & Porter has recruited the former acting inspector general at the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
Dara Corrigan will join the firm’s Washington DC office as a partner and co-head of the firm’s pharmaceutical and medical device practice group in the US.
Prior to her spell at the DHHS, she spent four years at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as director for program integrity and as deputy chief counsel, roles that saw her focused on protecting the integrity of Medicare/Medicaid programs from health care fraud and abuse.
Previously, she was an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia (1995-1999), where she worked on health care fraud and abuse issues, and was a trial attorney in the civil fraud section at the Department of Justice from 1991 to 1995.
