Arnold & Porter bags Winston & Strawn lawyer to head Euro corporate

Arnold & Porter has boosted its London office with the hire of Geneva-based Winston & Strawn corporate partner Carl Liederman.

Liederman, who starts on 9 June, will lead Arnold & Porter’s European corporate practice from London.

The firm has pledged to expand its London presence and embarked on a series of lateral hires this year.

Since the beginning of 2008 the office has taken on WilmerHale employment chief Henry Clinton-Davis (The Lawyer, 8 May 2008) and former Gap and Body Shop general counsel Paula Levitan (The Lawyer, 21 January)

Liederman joined Winston & Strawn from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe in July 2006, where he was European head of M&A (The Lawyer, 21 July 2006)

Arnold & Porter London head Tim Frazer said Liederman’s background in the pharmaceutical, financial and IP/technology sectors complemented the firm’s existing strengths, adding: “Carl will be a tremendous asset to our London office and European corporate strategy.”
