Appleby welcomes Jersey lawyer to partnership

Offshore giant Appleby has made up one new partner in this year’s promotions round.

Alex Last becomes a partner in the firm’s Jersey office, where he practises corporate and commercial law, focusing on the structuring of investment funds.

Meanwhile, three lawyers – Gill Crennell in the Isle of Man, Stephanie Duke in Jersey and Erica Robinson-McLeod in Bermuda – have been promoted to counsel. Duke is a litigator while Crennell and McLeod are both corporate lawyers.

Jersey managing partner Michael O’Connell said corporate and litigation were two of Appleby’s core services.

This year’s promotions round is smaller than last year’s, when two partners and five counsel were made up at Appleby. The firm is the world’s biggest offshore practice with over 80 partners and more than 220 qualified lawyers.
