Appleby Hunter Bailhache has launched an office in Mauritius, the firm’s fifth offshore location. The two-partner outpost is expectedto deal primarily with African and Asian-focused funds, with India a particular target. The office will open for business in February with Mauritius partner Gilbert Noel and Malcolm Moller, who is transferring from Appleby’s Bermuda office. It will also include two associates and support staff. Appleby already has offices in four of the world’s leading offshore business centres – Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands and Jersey – as well as offices in London and Hong Kong.
