Offshore giant firm Appleby has raided rival Ogier to hire Jeremy Leese into its corporate and commercial practice group.
He rejoins the firm as an associate in Jersey after a short stint at Ogier. He previously worked in Appleby’s Bermuda and Hong Kong offices in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Leese said the move was prompted because Appleby offered “better career prospects”.
The hire follows that of Alastair Drummond from Carey Olsen and the relocation of Sarah Bolton from Appleby’s Cayman Islands office into the Jersey corporate and commercial group late last year. (See story.)
Meanwhile, Appleby has also re-organised its marketing team in Jersey after recruiting Simon Worsey to head the local team.
Worsey joins the firm from DLA Piper’s Leeds office where he was business development manager for the financial services sector. He also was head of DLA's UK CRM programme.
Amy Wragg has also joined the Jersey-based team as marketing executive. She had previously worked with business support group Jersey Finance.
