A&O signs referral deal with Indian firm

•Allen & Overy (A&O) has signed a referral relationship with Indian law firm Trilegal.

The deal includes joint training for Trilegal partners and associates, as well as a consultancy agreement and a joint marketing initiative.

However, the tie-up does not include any profit-sharing arrangement, meaning that it is not in breach of India's ban on foreign law firms practising in India.

The relationship came about through A&O's Singapore office, which has worked with Trilegal for several years.
