Allen & Overy (A&O) is pouring money into its New York litigation practice, which opened just two months ago, where it hopes to more than double the number of fee-earners from 10 to 25 by next spring.

The department is headed by veteran trial lawyer Michael Feldberg, who joined from Schulte Roth & Zabel in February. Former Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft partner Pamela Rogers Chepiga is its senior counsel.

Feldberg, who worked for 25 years as a federal prosecution and defence lawyer, will focus on regulatory law and handle civil litigation relating to corporate governance, securities, antitrust, tax, fiduciary obligations of law firms and food and drug laws.

London head of litigation Peter Watson said his department is already receiving referral work through UK aspects of litigation handled by Feldberg’s department.
