Allen & Overy (A&O) has emerged as the most female-friendly magic circle firm in a recent survey of partners in the top 50 UK firms.
According to figures compiled by Winmark Research and Inspirational Develop-ment Coaching, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has the lowest number of female UK partners among magic circle firms, with 11.7 per cent compared with 19 per cent at A&O.
Technology specialists Bird & Bird and Olswang showed impressive form, with more than 30 per cent female UK partners apiece, while Lovells was also revealed to have a partnership that is 24 per cent female.
A Freshfields spokesperson said: "Four out of eight of our practice group heads in London are female. However, we do recognise that there is a problem and the work-life balance is something we've been looking into for the past 12 months."
