Allen & Overy’s (A&O) New York office has hired capital markets partner Ed De Sear as a partner in its international capital markets (ICM) group.
De Sear joins from Bingham McCutchen in New York. His practice focuses on both
the domestic and international asset-backed securities markets and he has acted on a number of transactions in Latin America and Turkey.
Managing partner of A&O’s New York office Kevin O’Shea said: “The addition of a leading market expert like Ed brings a unique wealth of creativity, experience and reputation to this already leading practice and provides Allen & Overy the unique opportunity to further penetrate the US securitisation market.
“Ed’s addition will also increase the value we can provide to our international capital markets clients in New York and around the globe.”
De Sear will work together with Lawton Camp on securitisations and Cathleen McLaughlin on Latin America-related work.
Camp added: “With the extraordinary amount of recent regulatory change in the US and Europe, Ed’s extensive experience in international securitisation and bank finance will be invaluable to Allen & Overy’s clients. It’s very exciting to have Ed joining the ICM practice.”
