A&O gives leg up to NY M&A capability

Cunningham, who joined the firm in April from Cravath Swaine & Moore, has raided White & Case, Vinson & Elkins and Unilever to add a team of four partners. All four previously worked with Cunningham at Cravath. The team is led by Eric Shube, head of M&A at Vinson & Elkins in New York, and he is joined by Vinson & Elkins colleague Marun Jazbik, who will become joint head of A&O's Latin American practice.
Peter Harwich joins from Unilever, where he was associate general counsel in the US. He was responsible for all US-based commercial agreements and corporate development. And Henry Morgenbesser moves over from White & Case, where he advised clients on pensions and benefits.
Cunningham said the hires made A&O one of few firms that could offer high-level M&A expertise on both US and European issues.
