Allen & Overy Turin breakaway firm Pavesio & Associati has made its first lateral hire, luring corporate finance partner Andrea Cristaudi from Simmons & Simmons.
Cristaudi began his career in A&O’s Turin office and was mentored by managing partner Carlo Pavesio. He made partner at the Milan office and then left for Simmons & Simmons in June last year.
Pavesio said: “Andrea has worked with me for many years and he will bring his experience as a regulatory and banking lawyer.”
Cristaudi will join Pavesio when the firm launches at the start of next year. Pavesio said he was looking to make more hires in time for the launch.
“There are prospective lateral hires,” said Pavesio. “From the time I announced the new operation, I have received many phone calls.”
Carlo Pavesio is the managing partner of A&O’s Turin office and has formed his own firm focusing on corporate finance, regulation and litigation. It will have a formal alliance with A&O despite being financially independent.
