Midlands firm Anthony Collins Solicitors has triumphed over Martineau Johnson to win the role of legal adviser to the newly-created Skills4Auto.
Skills4Auto is the Automotive Academy’s Midlands arm, designed to work with local vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers and training and funding providers to offer training programmes for the sector.
The 18-partner firm pitched for the work late last year, led by head of business law John Wearing, with Simon Ramshaw of the firm’s not-for-profit and charities team.
Wearing said: “Our in-depth knowledge of the not-for-profit sector and our specific knowledge of grant-funded organisations helped us win the job.”
A Martineau Johnson spokesman said the firm missed out on the work because of conflicts.
The Automotive Academy is rolling out the training scheme in other regions, and Wearing indicated that the firm will pitch for other roles as they arise.
