My PA.

6.30pm.

Fend off my kids’ demands and exercise.

Pod, London Wall.

If you weren’t a lawyer what would you have been?
Something in Latin ­America.

Who’s your hero and why?
Anyone who can kite surf because I’m currently too chicken to try.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Its variety and the clients.

What’s the toughest thing about your job?
Keeping everyone – ­including my family – happy.

What’s your biggest work/career mistake and what did you learn from it?
Thinking I knew it all and learning that I never would.

Yamaha TMax.

The Map of Love by Ahdaf Soueif.

I love my job and every day is exciting.

If you were stranded on a desert island what two luxury items would you take?
My wife would say my BlackBerry and charger; I’d say my family. Philip, our head of litigation, can get that to count as one.

What’s the worst partner ­conference location you’ve attended and why?
An appalling hotel just outside London many years ago – I’d better not mention which one.

What’s the longest you’ve worked without sleep?
We aren’t that type of firm.
