Stay cool during a merger

  • If there is one defining element to a successful merger it is that both parties work with a facilitator who will manage all the procedureal elements from assessment of best fit, timetable (setting and managing milestones), through due diligence, data collection/comparison/exchange, managing confidentiality/communications (internal and external) and assessment of cultural and business 'fit'. If there is one common denominator that characterises failure it is the unwillingness to engage and work with independent advisers.

  • While these short articles can only ever be a summary, Andrew Hedley's articles on making the most out of a merger are more in-depth and therefore more useful. Highly recommended stuff!
