This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Slater & Gordon is set to sponsor England cricket captain Alastair Cook, in a move that will see him act as brand ambassador for the firm.
As part of the arrangement, Slater & Gordon’s logo and branding will feature on the opener’s cricket bat during all of his England and Essex matches until the end of the year. Cook will also make appearances at the firm’s events.
The move is part of Slater & Gordon’s continued strategy to establish itself as a nationwide household legal brand, following its £1m investment in a TV advertising campaign which kicked off in September 2013 (18 September 2013).
Last year, the firm’s COO Cath Evans told The Lawyer that the brand has 80 per cent unprompted recognition in Australia - a target the firm aims to replicate in the UK.
Cook is currently leading the national cricket team in its test series against India. Since making his test match debut in 2006, Cook has played for England 102 times. He is the youngest player in the history of cricket to score 7,000 test match runs, and was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2011.
The sportsman said in a statement: ”I am thrilled that Slater & Gordon will be supporting me during a very exciting period for English cricket and I look forward to representing the firm both on and off the pitch”.
