Linklaters is combining its regulatory, risk, governance and compliance capabilities to create a new ‘operational intelligence group’.
The team will be led by commercial partner Satinder Dogra, environment partner Vanessa Harvard-Williams and corporate partner Tom Shropshire and involve 25 partners. It is aimed at providing risk advice to clients outside of the financial services sector.
The group sits in parallel to the financial regulation group and brings together corporate, antitrust regulatory, litigation lawyers among others. It will combine corporate, litigation and regulatory lawyers to identify risks to clients.
Linklaters said it was the first to set up such a group, aimed at assessing upcoming compliance issues across the world for clients.
It marks the increasing demand for regulatory advice from multinational companies facing compliance issues across borders.
Harvard-William said: “Regulatory and social expectations of multinationals continue to grow, with regulators around the world becoming increasingly active. This poses a complex compliance challenge for corporates, with unpredictable outcomes when problems do occur.”
