  • Am I the only one who considers the HMRC proposals entirely reasonable - especially for the large LLPs. There may be hundreds of partners/directors but it is well understood that may be a dozen have clearly defined management roles - for the others it is merely status, a title. There are minor management responsibilities like training and mentoring staff but that is no more than very large numbers of others do in service and manufacturing industries and they have none of the benefits of self-employment. It is high time this anomaly was cleared up and partners with no real management responsibilities were put on PAYE just like other people.
