  • Good. Plexus/Parabis etc have been pretending to be a law firm (concerned with legal matters, not just volume/bulk work) for long enough. It's about time they were known for what they are, insurance claims handlers.

  • What is so wrong with having volume players as being serious market contenders? This is a big deal and opens up the legal market to consumers who have for too long been ignored by the big City firms.
Some in the City may well turn their noses up at moves like this but I think you'd find it is sensible business, managed effectively with decent IT and people who can turn around what can sometimes be complex claims in a limited time. I would like to see a City lawyer try and do the same at the same price.

  • Until the legal profession implements full accountability and transparency, and ensures that consumer protection law for private clients paying hefty fees is brought in line with that of other business providers, it has no right to complain about developments such as this.
No doubt there will no comments on the line of paying peanuts and getting monkeys, however I know from bitter experience that one can pay exorbitant fees and still get monkeys.
