Amnesty has withdrawn its complaint over the ban to the European Court of Human Rights after the Government promised to reconsider the human rights organisation's case.
The Government conceded that Amnesty had suffered loss of income because of the ban and agreed to pay the body "an appropriate sum".
The Government wants the prohibition on political advertising on TV and radio to remain but has agreed to reconsider how Amnesty and other human rights bodies are classified for broadcast advertising purposes.
The Radio Authority has already revised its decision and Amnesty is now allowed to advertise through that medium
