Amhursts transfers its Italian interests

Amhurst Brown Colombotti has transferred its Italian law department to an Italian firm following the retirement of its Italian law specialist.

Studio Legale Sutti of Milan has taken over the department formerly led by Salvatore San Marco, who was with the firm for 25 years.

Amhursts senior partner Carlo Colombotti said an Italian firm would be better equipped to do the work. The extra work has meant expanding Suttis' London office under Daniela Lanticina.

Amhursts and Suttis have had close ties for a number of years, including an exchange programme for the firms' trainees.

But Suttis managing partner, Stefano Sutti, said he did not want to stress the link with Amhursts. "We are available to work with any law firm in England."

Suttis' London office was established in 1992. It does not aim to compete with local firms but to improve the service for domestic clients by acting as a front desk to its Milan office.
