US employment boutique Littler Mendelson has formed a strategic alliance with Chinese firm TransAsia Lawyers, a move designed to expand the firm’s reach outside of the Americas for the first time.
Last year Littler Mendelson opened its first-ever overseas office with an outpost in Venezuela. The People’s Republic of China deal is aimed at broadening the firm’s reach into Asia and allowing TransAsia more access to the US markets.
The US firm will operate in tandem with TransAsia’s Beijing and Shanghai offices under the leadership of labour and employment specialist Isabelle Wan.
“As the world’s second largest economy, China’s an important next step in the expansion of our international employment and labor practice group,” said Marko Mrkonich, Littler’s president and managing director.
