Eversheds is taking on a banking partner from Australian firm Allens Arthur Robinson (AAR)
David Boyd joins the London office today where he will focus on banking and capital markets. Before joining AAR, Boyd was at Slaughter and May. In the past, he has tended to advise borrowers, although he also has a strong relationship with National Australia Bank (NAB). However, Eversheds London managing partner Michael Brown said that Boyd is not being recruited for his clients. "We have always said that we would wait for the right person and Boyd is the right person. He has a broad range of skills from blue chip stables," he said. Five out of the six top Eversheds clients are banks and the firm is on a number of panels, including NAB, Royal Bank of Scotland and HSBC. Boyd's hiring follows the appointment of Philip Perrotta, who joined in October from BAE Systems where he was legal director. Eversheds head of banking John Finnigan said: "Boyd's experience will benefit the 65-strong banking team firm-wide and is part of an ongoing programme to build on the team's strengths and to meet the expanding demands of our banking and corporate clients." There are now four banking partners in the Eversheds London office.
