Allen & Gledhill (A&G) has had a shake-up in its financial services department in Singapore, with Shook Lin & Bok partner Lynette Lee taking over as head of investment funds from Choo Wai Hong, who in turn is joining the Wong Partnership.
Lee was previously a senior associate at A&G, Linklaters‘ joint venture partner, before she left to take a job as in-house counsel for the Asia Pacific headquarters of Aberdeen Asset Management. She left there to become a partner with Allen & Overy’s joint venture partner Shook Lin & Bok in 2002.
A&G managing partner Lucien Wong said the firm was not planning to extend the funds group, instead keeping it as a smaller part of the financial services practice to provide advice to existing clients. Lee will join the firm tomorrow (1 July).
Hong will leave for The Wong Partnership sometime towards the end of the year. Recent transactions in which she has been involved include the listing of the country’s first two property trusts, CapitaMall Trust and real estate investment trust Ascendas, and advising Singapore’s first publicly-distributed offshore fund Xavex.
